a comfortable night's sleep, September 27, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Blueflex Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper, California King (Kitchen) Very comfortable, helps with pressure on hips and shoulders. I got this one for a replacement to one of the thicker thermopedic, 4 inch, 3 lb viscosity mattress, it was nice and lasted over 3 years, but had gotten very squishy. This one is more comfortable, easier to get off of and to turn over on.
I would definitely buy this again.

After 40 nights on a queen sized Blueflex. (updated 11/19/11)., October 20, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Blueflex Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Queen (Kitchen) I traded in my old mattress topper for this one because I've recently started waking up achy every morning--although I walk it off pretty easily as soon as I'm up and moving about. I wanted to find out if the problem, which Advil PM wasn't having any impact on whatsoever, could be related to what I was sleeping on, and therefore probably fixable, or whether it's a case of encroaching decrepitude, which I'm probably stuck with. Since replacing a mattress topper vs replacing a mattress is a whole lot less costly, I decided to start with replacing the topper. Two factors in my choice of this one were (a)that a Google search of independent consumer organization ratings of memory foam toppers said that in terms of effectiveness there was no difference between the more expensive 3" pads and the 2" inchers and (b) I liked the Blueflex claims of diminished foam odor.

It was easy to assemble. It smells minty but not overpowering (I have a very sensitive sense of smell and am allergic to everything, but it didn't bother me). I bought a mattress a few months ago that is a bit too firm. I wake up all night long, and I am constantly tired during the day. I have an obliterated L5-S1 disk that is literally mashing my sciatic nerves on both sides, and after half an hour or so on my side on that too-firm mattress, my leg is on fire. Plus, I encased said mattress in one of those dust mite covers, so I'm always way too hot. The minty foam thing solved both problems. I woke up this morning in the same position I went to sleep in, which means I never woke up because I was in pain or overheated. YAY! Specs: this is a queen-sized topper over a Euro pillow top that is encased in a dust mite/bed bug casement; the topper is itself encased in the cover that comes with it, and on top of all of that is a mattress pad.
