Getting that Good Sleep, September 20, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: CradleSoft University TXL 1-1/2-Inch Memory Foam Topper (Kitchen) I was recommended to buy such a thing for school since the dorm mattresses are known to be pretty poor. This wasn't my first choice since many people were getting the kind with the egg-carton pattern. However, the price was decent and I was desperate. Turns out it was a good decision. It works very well as my bed is now very comfy. My only grief is that I'm not sure if it really is an XL. It fit on my mattress perfectly and I think the mattress is a regular twin. If you know for sure that your bed is an XL, then don't expect this to fit very well. Also, it smelled a little at first, just that normal foam-like smell, but it went away pretty quickly. Overall, it's a good deal that gets the job done.

After reading reviews on some of the less expensive options, this one had the most overall positive review. I decided that at $50 it was definitely worth a shot. I couldn't be happier.
It is very comfortable - it is like almost any other memory foam you'd see in mattress stores. Not too soft, but a huge difference over a dorm mattress.
It also doesn't smell strongly at all. I took it right out of the package and out it straight on the bed - a week later, I can only smell it with my nose right up against it.
I also received this product 2 days after purchasing it with free shipping - that's almost unbeatable.
