The real stuff., March 19, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Foamex Aerus Natural 2-1/2-Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper with Cover (Kitchen) So after trying out 3 other similar products ranging in price from 88-179 dollars, I decided to spend a bit more and got what I was looking for.
I had been sleeping on an expensive $300+ memory foam mattress topper that was about 5 years old and it was pretty close to perfect still. Recently a family member who has severe back trouble had recently called and complained to me about her mattress hurting her back. So I decided to give her the foam I was using and go out and buy myself a discount topper(big mistake). The first one I tried was 2.5lb foam made in the USA and set me back 99 bucks, I only used it for 2 nights and found it to be so soft that once I sunk into it, my mattress actually seemed worse than with no pad. The second was 88 dollars and was made in China out of 3lb foam and was slightly more supportive, however it smelled like a toxic waste dump with a very burnt plastic aroma so it went back as well. It does what it says. We now sleep better and don't toss and turn due to sweating and compaction of the foam topper. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is not having a good night's sleep.

Stinky, October 4, 2010 By This review is from: Foamex Aerus Natural 2-1/2-Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper with Cover, Full (Kitchen) I have had this item for 4 weeks and it is continuing to off gas. For the first two weeks, the smell was very strong. It filled the bedroom with a distinctive skunk like odor. We let it air out, indoors for 7 days. When that did not bring about any improvements, we let it air outside for one day. However, it wasn't until week three that the smell lessened to the point where we could sleep on it. It still has a smell, though not nearly as strong as in the first few weeks. If I turn in my sleep and my face is on the mattress, I can still smell the off gas. All my sheets have retained a bit of the odor. In the morning I wake with head aches and have decided to return this item after much effort to make it work. I am disappointed. It is very comfortable and keeps a nice temperature. It was delivered quickly and my return process, thus far has been helpful.
