I have two Tempur-pedic queen size ones. They started off firm but got soft. They're not bad; good for sleeping but sometimes when laying in bed you want some strong neck support. These Silver Rest Charcoal Contour Pillows are very firm which makes anything but face up laying on them a tad awkward. Yet, as replacement ones (well I use both actually) these puppies fit the bill. Moreover, they seem a tad cooler; just have a pillow case covering them so that might be it. Still for the price they seem well made. Their size is identical to the Tempur-pedic ones. In a white pillow case the black shines through, that for me, however, isn't a big deal. So far so good.
